Competitive Pay & Benefits: * PAID TIME OFF (PTO): Accrual begins from your first day of full-time employment and can be used as earned. Unused PTO is paid out at termination if you've been employed for at least six months. PTO carryover is based on your years of service, determined by your full-time anniversary date: * 0-4 Yrs: 5.18 hrs bi-weekly / 134 hrs per year / 162 max carryover * 5-9 Yrs: 7.32 hrs bi-weekly / 190 hrs per year / 216 max carryover * 10+ Yrs: 9.48 hrs bi-weekly / 246 hrs per year / 270 max carryover Sick Leave: Accrues at 5.0 hours bi-weekly for 24-hour shift personnel, with a max of 1,512 hours. Sick leave is not paid out at termination, except upon official retirement when up to 240 hours may be paid. Employees with a balance of at least 272 hours may convert up to 32 hours to PTO or receive compensation once per year. Educational Assistance: Available after one year of full-time employment, with a maximum benefit of $5,250 per calendar year. Pre-approval required. Retirement Plans: The City contributes 10% to a 401a plan through TransAmerica from your full-time hire date, with up to a 5% match on employee contributions to a 457b plan. Employees can also receive an additional 1% City match into a 401a when contributing at least 2% to a 457b. This way, employees contributing 7% or more of their salary can receive a maximum City match of 16%, totaling at least 23% of their salary invested in retirement plans. Holiday Pay and Leave: Full-time shift employees receive 8 hours of additional pay for 12 recognized holidays, plus 12 hours of Special PTO for holidays worked. Total Special PTO cannot exceed 72 hours. Recognized holidays include: * New Year's Day (Jan 1) * Martin Luther King Day * Presidents' Day * Spring Holiday (Good Friday) * Memorial Day (Last Monday in May) * Independence Day (July 4) * Labor Day (First Monday in Sept) * Veterans' Day * Thanksgiving Day and the following Friday * Christmas Eve and Christmas Day The City has the right to revise this job description at any time.
