The Software Tester will support our customer, the United States Postal Service, in Merrifield, VA. Within the Engineering Department, the Retail Technology Programs group requires a software tester. The software tester will participate in the development and testing of various software programs and related integrated technologies that support retail solutions for the United States Postal Service. NOTE: Employee will report to the Merrifield, VA location M-F for a period of THREE MONTHS. After successful performance, the employee will be authorized to telework from home 3 days/week and work from the Merrifield, VA location 2 days/week. Essential Functions: * Perform Requirement Specifications reviews and analysis, and perform Post Implementation Validation in Production environment prior to formal introduction to the field. * Document and follow up on in-process defect documented in Application Lifecycle Management (ALM). * Develop new ADD files corresponding to the Change Request. * Perform test activities for new Change Requests. * Develop Test Cases and Test Scripts to test Change Request. * Perform End-to-End Testing for Software & Infrastructure Releases. * Test System defects. * Perform Regression Testing. * Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. * Performs a variety of complicated tasks. * A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Education and Experience: * Bachelor's Degree, preferably in area of specialty (Schools and degree programs must be listed as US Accredited by a US board of accreditation such as ABET). * At least 5 years' of experience in the field or a related area. * Experience using MS Office Suite software (Word, Excel, and Access) and specialized software programs. Additional Requirements: * Candidate must be able to sit, stand and work at a computer for prolonged periods. * Strong mathematical and analytical skills. * Ability to work flexible hours when needed. * Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check & drug test.
