Job Family Group: Staff Department/Office: Men's Basketball (Jimmy Smith) Time Type: Part time Compensation: $47,026.82-$58,783.52 Please note, starting salaries are based on factors including internal equity, relevant experience, and education. Exemption Status: United States of America (Exempt) Job Description: Responsible for assisting in coaching, recruiting, scheduling and budgeting of the University's intercollegiate Division III men's Basketball program. Teaches activity classes, and a second assignment within the Athletic Department will be required. * Assists coaching the intercollegiate Division III Men's Basketball program. * Recruits qualified student-athletes according to TU Admission Office guidelines. * Assists the Head Coach in developing a schedule of contests for each season and makes appropriate arrangements for travel to out of town contests. * Teaches activity courses. * Assists the Head Coach with developing and proposing a men's basketball budget annually and to manage expenditures within the allocation. * Assumes position of second assignment in the Athletic Department as determined by the Director of Athletics and Head Coach. ADDITIONAL DUTIES * Abides by NCAA Division III Basketball rules and regulations. * Remains "on-call" for student-athletes needs 24/7, nights and weekends. Requires extensive travel and time during the regular season and during the recruiting season. * Cooperates and collaborates with other employees in the spirit of teamwork and collegiality and interacts with confidence, patience and integrity to provide professional leadership during emergencies. * Complies with all Trinity University policies and guidelines. * Performs other duties as required. EDUCATION Required: Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university. EXPERIENCE Required: Played college basketball, preferably at the Division III level. Preferred: One year to 2 years coaching experience at any level. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Required: Demonstrated effectiveness in the recruitment of student athletes and the instructional aspects of coaching. Ability to manage multiple social media accounts. Preferred: Group dynamics. Basketball skill development. Basic understanding of technical aspects for basketball skills and strategy. Proficiency in all phases of the duties performed. Coaching, recruiting, budget management, and scheduling. Roster management. Interpersonal communication skills parents; students; and alumni. Knowledge and ability to communicate the value of a Trinity's education. Awareness of current and future needs for the basketball program's success and development. LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS Preferred: CPR First Aid
