Northern Light Mayo Hospital Department: Ambulance Transport Position is located: Emergency Med Svcs- Dover Foxcroft Work Type: Full Time Hours Per Week:36.00 Work Schedule: Variable EMT-B Sponsorship Details: * Paid 12 hours/week as a Vehicle Driver on the Ambulance Service (work hours). * Paid 24 hours/week for education time. * Commit to Northern Light Mayo Hospital for 2 years following the transition to full-time EMT-B role. * Must be accepted in an approved/accredited EMT Basic program. Responsibilities: * Upon completion of the education program, meet the essential duties and responsibilities for the position sought. * Actively participate in classroom and clinical experiences, adhering to all program requirements in order to successfully complete the program. * Meet all program admission requirements prior to being offered a position. * Meet all program exit requirements, including requirements for the certified/licensed position sought. * Keep Clinical Instructor informed of the patient's status and changes as well as problems. * Comply with mandated hospital and departmental programs. * Accept responsibility for professional growth and development. * Demonstrate a commitment to the philosophy and objectives of Mayo * Work with the education and leadership team to assure a balance of work and educational responsibilities. Other Information: * No previous clinical experience is required for Trainee - EMT Basic. * Must be accepted in an approved/accredited EMT Basic program. * Must meet program admission/certification/licensure requirements. * Will obtain active licensure or certification status within 120 days of completion of the program, unless otherwise specified in the agreement letter. * Must be able to read and write with proficiency to accomplish responsibilities. * Must attend all clinical and class educational sessions and complete the educational requirements of the course. * Teamwork, motivation, self-directedness, and commitment to patients are essential skills.
