If so, our Administrative Services Division is looking for a Facilities Senior Planner.   The Facilities Senior Planner serves in a supervisory lead capacity and independently formulates and develops facilities use policy, oversees space planning operations which includes coordination of work area and workstation reconfigurations, monitors and managers the lease renewals of state- and privately-owned L&I leased facilities in support of the agency strategic facilities plan and programming.   This position supervises the Field Office Facilities Planning Team within the Facilities Services Program. The position manages Inter-Agency Agreements (IAA) for lease renewals and relocations, new office searches, and tenant improvement projects performed by DES - Real Estate Services (RES) for L&I leased facilities. The Facilities Senior Planner prepares technical reports and documents such as the Modified Pre-Design (MPD) for field office relocations or new spaces, 6-year plans, field services manual, and the Facilities Strategic Plan.   This position is responsible for providing technical architectural facilities information for deferred maintenance and tenant improvements for lease renewals and field office relocations. The position manages the L&I facilities portfolio keeping track of space use efficiencies, current and forecasted staffing levels, facilities staff capacity, maintains current facility plans in AutoCAD, tracks lease expiration dates, initiates and collaborates with DES - RES to ensure that decisions are made in a timely manner to renew leases and keep L&I leases up to date.  The senior planner provides project management oversight and coordinates field office moves and relocations, workstations modifications and reconfigurations, office furniture, equipment and carpet installations, and painting in the HQ office building and in the field offices. The team under this position provides space planning and management, ergonomic modifications, furniture ordering and workstation equipment installations, site and office building selection and lease coordination with DES, coordination of maintenance work in the field offices, review of interagency agreement for building related services including card readers monitoring, and coordination with Security and Internal Safety & Health for security cameras installation in L&I buildings.  This position reports to the Facilities Program Director and represents L&I Facilities Services as the facilities planning liaison with internal customers, stakeholders, and other agencies such as OFM and DES. Some of what you'll do: * Develop and implements the agency's Facility Planning and Space Use Policies. * Oversee, assign, coordinate, and deliver Facilities Planning Projects * Serve as Facilities Planning liaison to report Facilities Planning Projects status and service levels to customer service managers, office managers, regional administrators and customers.  * Provide project management expertise for complex space planning projects, consultant services, and design and construction projects. * Oversee tenant improvement projects and the agency's six-year leased facilities plan and regional project work. * Plan for space consolidations and collocations, and mobile center workplace strategies for state agencies in both L&I private and state-owned leased facilities. * Develop and implement long and short-term facilities plans for HQ and Field Offices. * Review policy level decisions with OFM and DES regarding office relocations and prepare Modified Pre-Design reports. * Read and interpret lease documents. * Conduct field office visit briefings with planners, coordinators and maintenance mechanics. * Provide cost estimates and recommendations for tenant improvement construction projects, lease renewals, relocations, etc. * Review and approve specifications for tenant improvement construction projects and field office developments. * Provide professional and technical support and act as a liaison with agency stuff. * Coordinate with Internal Safety & Health to develop security policy and install security systems such as alarms, duress systems, and security cameras. * Coordinate procurement processes for contracts, projects and services, and processes invoices for completed work. * Use AutoCAD to prepare working drawings, plans, diagrams and to maintain floor layouts and plans. * Supervise and lead the Field Office Facilities Planning Team which includes Facility Planners and Maintenance Mechanics. * Independently evaluate field office visits and work performance. * Coach staff, initiate progressive discipline process (as needed), and hold regular team meetings. * And much more! Required: Note: Qualifying facilities experience may substitute year for year for education  A Bachelor's degree involving major study in business or public administration, engineering, architecture, property or land management, or other areas related to Facilities Management, Planning or Project Management.   AND  A minimum of four (4) years' experience in governmental facilities planning, operations, space and lease management, or in related fields in private industry.  * Microsoft Office products: Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, etc. Must have a valid unrestricted driver license.   Desired:  * Supervisory experience.  * Experience developing and managing performance metrics for staff and projects.  * PMP Certification or Project Management Training.  * Experience in Strategic Planning and Facilities Portfolio Management.  * Experience with Microsoft Project and AutoCAD.  * Experience in a Lean Project or an above-average understanding of Lean Principles.  * Experience managing construction projects, tenant improvements, furniture reconfigurations, and other facilities-related projects.  * In-depth understanding of modern work environment principles.  * Ability to work and thrive in a fast paced, transitioning, shared work environment.  * Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines as well as maintain project scope and budgets.  * Ability to work with and report to team members at all levels of the organization.  * Competent in organizational change management, conflict resolution and crisis management.  * Knowledge of space design, building and egress codes, and ADA requirements.  * Experience in preparing project proposals and presentation graphics.  * Experience in preparing, tracking and maintaining cost and schedule estimates.  * Experience communicating (written and orally) with all levels of staff and management.   Things You Need To Know    To help you maintain a proper work-life balance, teleworking is one of the work schedule options for this position.
