As a Senior Project Designer on the Perkins&Will team, your skills and passion will come to life through the following responsibilities: * Responsible for leading all phases of the design process with a high level of proficiency and expertise while adhering to firm and project goals and standards of excellence in design, execution, and living design. * Initiates and creates schematic designs that optimize design solutions and plans with responsibility for presentation drawings, models, and narratives. * Promotes and manages overall project goals and constraints, including client values, construction and design budget limitations, and schedule requirements. * Evaluates design alternatives based on site and code requirements. * Expertly applies knowledge of building technology, building materials, construction methods, costs, and code to the design process. * Identifies and responds to technical implications and design decisions. * Prepares client presentation packages, external publications, and award submissions. * Plays essential role in marketing opportunities and develops successful client relationships for continuing business. * Uses graphic storytelling to advance the project delivery and scope. * Reviews work for accuracy, omissions, legibility, and for document compliance in accordance with the Project Delivery Manual. * Leads collaborative teams in internal design reviews, charettes, and pin-ups and external community engagements. * Demonstrates strong and effective communication and direction which inspires high team performance and design ideas. * Mentors staff. * Accountable for effective coordination with partners and consultants throughout the schematic and design development phases. Requirements * 15-20+ yrs of experience showcasing significant work in Higher Education and Health Education a plus * LEED GA within 6 months of hire * Professional Accreditation in one area of Living Design that interests you: LEED AP with Specialty, BREEAM AP, WELL AP, SITES AP, Passive House Institute Certified Passive House Consultant/Designer CPHC/CPHD, or ILFI Living Future Accreditation * Architectural license (preferred) * Bachelor's degree in architecture or related discipline required Qualified and interested candidates should submit a resume and work samples.
