Clarification from the agency Open to all U.S. Citizens Help Duties This position seeks a professional, proactive and resourceful contributor and member of a team for projects/programs within the defined area of AIS-330 responsibility with strong oral and written communication skills. Information Technology "IT" skills, with a background in information security and network security is a plus. Metrics duties include: * Provide analysis of cybersecurity data and processes with the goal of nominating cybersecurity metrics to be reported * Support the metrics team in identifying cybersecurity metrics to improve performance of incident response processes * Create and maintain metrics planning and team process documentation * Independently communicate with stakeholders to gather cybersecurity metrics related information * Using cybersecurity metrics, provide support for recommendations for improving incident response processes for the agency (i.e. in After Action Reports) * Generate cybersecurity metrics monthly and brief leadership * Respond in a timely manner to Federal Information Security Modernization Act (FISMA) data calls from the Department of Transportation and Office of Inspection General (OIG) * Collaborate Data call responses with division level and other branches within the Information Security Directorate. * Be proficient in MS Excel - be able to use formulas to generate graphs and tables for cybersecurity metrics * Familiarity of SOC tools such Splunk, IDS, Firewalls is a plus Exercise planner duties include: collecting and analyzing data/information; conducting general research; editing documents; tracking deliverables; communicating and coordinating with AIS team members; critical thinking to accomplish goals; applying policies and procedures; identifying problems; Improving upon internal branch processes, and working with teams across the agency on day-to-day operations. This role will include exercise planning coordination and communication to monitor and track actions and reporting for completeness and responsiveness to guidance, to ensure that commitments and milestones are met, and delinquencies are brought to the attention of the manager. Assist with the coordination of various project initiatives, and daily activities: * Support cybersecurity exercise life cycle planning phases: Plan, Design, Conduct, Analyze and Recommend. By preparing agendas, discussion content, read ahead, presentations, and minutes for planning meetings. * Create and maintain exercise planning documentation using Microsoft office tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project and Visio). Work on multiple projects simultaneously with varying deadlines. * Lead the Exercise Operations team members. Track and manage delivery of critical planning products in support of exercise deliverables based on familiarity of the HSEEP framework for operations and discussion based exercises. * Collaborate on FAA Security Operations Center exercises to test the agency's incident response capabilities, and participate in external cyber exercises that may involve other FAA organizations or other agencies * Conduct one-on-one meetings with stakeholders to gather exercise information and documentation * Support the development of AIS-330 process documentation to ensure standardization and quality of deliverables * Provide post-exercise recommendations on how to improve efficiency and effectiveness of operations identifying work areas where repeatable processes and documentation are required * Ensure activities align with the latest cybersecurity directives and policies * Additional duties may be assigned as required.
