Position Title (Classification Title): Student Assistant - 2025 UWF Orientation Leader Working Title: 2025 UWF Orientation Leader Job Summary: UWF Orientation Leaders are responsible for welcoming and orienting incoming students and families to UWF New Student Orientation throughout the summer. This includes but is not limited to, informing new students about all campus resources, involvement opportunities, and campus policies while also serving as a role model and mentor to these incoming students as they transition to college. They must demonstrate effective leadership skills and abilities as they welcome incoming students and families. Orientation Leaders must also possess good oral and written communication skills, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, take initiative, be task-oriented, open to change and new opportunities, organized, and must support the mission, vision, and goals of the Office of Undergraduate Admissions and the Division of Academic Affairs. All events, the position, and more are dependent on the standards, policies, and procedures of UWF. Department Office of Undergraduate Admissions FLSA: Non-Exempt Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must be a student enrolled for credit. Applicants may be a student at UWF or any other college, university or high school. A student enrolled at an institution other than UWF must provide proof of attendance by submitting a registration/fee payment receipt from the school they will attend. Position Qualifications: Current undergraduate student enrolled in Fall 2024, enrolling in classes for Spring 2025, and planning to enroll for Fall 2025. Must be in good academic standing through Spring 2025; live on campus in the residence hall throughout the summer for in-person sessions; attend and work all mandatory training and orientation events (including, but not limited to Fall, Spring and Summer training sessions); attend the Premiere event in May; attend additional Undergraduate Admissions events as deemed necessary. Perform other necessary duties as assigned. Preferred Qualifications Possess professionalism and a strong work ethic as well as a sincere desire to serve UWF's incoming students and families. Demonstrate an understanding and show insight for the purpose of orientation. Effective leadership skills and abilities. Ability to work in a team environment and work with many different personalities effectively. Support all UWF policies and procedures, faculty, and staff. Communicate effectively in a public setting and within a team environment. Reliable, responsible, punctual, team-oriented, willing to learn, flexible, and professional while representing UWF. Special Requirements or Considerations of the Job: * This position requires fingerprinting.
