Sands College of Performing Arts is hiring Production Student Aides (PSA) to work in the scene shop, lighting and A/V shop, costume shop, film program, and theaters for the build, load-in, strike and shooting of all MainStage Sands Productions. They also assist in academics, as needed. PSAs' duties include, but are not limited to, building, painting, and installing scenery; hanging & cabling lighting, video, and sound equipment, in addition to working with power tools, hand tools, electrical equipment, and more, as is standard in a theatrical production. In the costume shop, stitching, dyeing, distressing, crafts, sewing skills (machine and hand), dressmaking, tailoring, and cutting skills. For film, PSA's may serve as Assistant Camera Operators and/or Gaff/Grip crew. * PSAs must be able to climb a 10' ladder, carry at least 50 lbs, work on their feet for 4 hours, take direction from, and work with all designers, faculty, and theatre staff employed by the Pace School of Performing Arts. * Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. * Ability to handle confidential information in a discreet manner. * Strong written and verbal communication skills. * Reliable and patient with visitors. * Office experience is a plus. * Ability to work independently. * Strong customer service and organizational skills.
