Director of Doctor of Ministry Program Reports to: VP for Academic Affairs/Academic Dean Department: Academic Affairs Position Summary: The Director of the Doctor of Ministry Program is responsible for the development, maintenance, and advancement of the Doctor of Ministry Program. The Director in consultation with the Academic Dean leads curricular design, budgeting, and planning, recommends teaching faculty, and proposes the creation of new cohorts. With the support from relevant Seminary staff, the Director develops and designs the program's marketing and recruitment efforts. The Director also conducts DMin program assessment ensuring compliance with all regulatory agencies as appropriate. The Director of the Doctor of Ministry Program should be committed to and embrace the mission, identity, and vision of New York Theological Seminary. This position reports to the VP/Academic Dean. Position Duties and Responsibilities: * Supervise the DMin program, maintaining its size and structure in accordance with the seminary's strategic plan and vision. * Foster and guide the cultivation and quality control of each of the seminary's DMin tracks, developing appropriate curriculum and recruiting faculty to develop and teach. * Support and encourage faculty/mentors in their ongoing work with their own DMin cohorts * Assist with student recruitment and consult with Admissions and Enrollment teams concerning the application and admission process consistent with seminary enrollment policies and standards * Manage and coordinate the logistics of each DMin track. * Recommend to the faculty, on behalf of the DMin Committee, the granting of the DMin degree as participants complete the program. * Develop and maintain partnerships and relationships with other DMin programs and directors. * Direct the staff who support the DMin program. * Assist in maintaining accurate records on each DMin student. * Develop and manage the budget of the D.Min. program. * Improve the DMin program on an ongoing basis through curriculum design, qualified personnel, and interaction between DMin students and the broader NYTS community. * Conducts DMin program assessment ensuring compliance with all regulatory agencies as appropriate. * Chairs and convenes the DMin committee of NYTS * Other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Requirements * A terminal degree in a theological discipline. * Qualifications to merit appointment as faculty at the seminary. * Knowledge of the theory and practice of theological education, including its role in professional development. * Significant experience in theological education and/or congregational leadership. * Demonstrated record of strong performance in administration at an accredited institution of higher * Demonstrated ability to work constructively and as a member of a team. * Demonstrated teaching ability at the seminary level. * Competency with budget and fiscal management. * Working knowledge of a learning management systems such as Campus Anyware, Blackbaud and its equivalent, and of social media. * Ability to learn and embrace new technologies with demonstrable ease Disclaimer Statement The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this job.
