Buckner International: Camp Buckner Location: Burnet, TX - Onsite Address: 3835 FM2342, Burnet, TX 78611 Job Status: Full-Time Join our team at Camp Buckner as the Assistant Director - External Engagement! You will lead our incredible team members and volunteers, cultivating a culture of exceptional hospitality and assistance for our guests. Additionally, you will be an ambassador, sharing the inspiring mission of Camp Buckner with diverse audiences. You'll collaborate closely with the Camp Director to drive development initiatives and ensure we're exceeding all safety, licensing, and certification standards. What You'll Do Leadership * Assist in developing and implementing plans and goals for the department * Undertake staffing responsibilities (hiring, training, evaluating etc.) * Oversee and monitor budgeted revenue goals while exceeding customer satisfaction. * Assist in organizing, planning, and facilitating comprehensive training for team members * Maintain up-to-date safety procedures and implement all required safety training and emergency response drills. Out Reach and Networking * Ensure the implementation of an effective recruitment strategy for staffing needs. * Supervise and help organize, implement, and coordinate a comprehensive volunteer program at Camp. * Develop and maintain positive relationships with current and prospective retreat guests to promote Camp ministries. * Identify opportunities to educate prospective stakeholders about Camp Buckner. Marketing and Communications * Ensure execution of all marketing communications are met. * Promote Camp Buckner ministries through marketing and recruiting opportunities. * Make marketing presentations to groups, organizations, and churches. Strategic Support * Assist in implementing measurement tools to evaluate program success and stakeholder satisfaction for all Camp programs. What You'll Bring to the Team * Minimum 5 years prior related experience in Camp management, guest relations community engagement and outdoor education. * In-depth comprehensive field of knowledge typically associated with a Bachelor's Degree in a related field. * Have or be willing to obtain certification in ropes course training. * Have or be willing to obtain certification in life-saving from a nationally accredited body. * Have a current CPR/First Aid certification or willingness and ability to complete such certification. * Ability to hear and receive verbal instructions, answer phones, communicate with people in situations with some background noise. * Ability to use up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently and/or 10 pounds continuously to move objects. * Ability to work nights and weekends as required to meet business needs. * Ability to walk, stand and sit, sometimes for prolonged periods of time The above description reflects the details considered necessary to describe the essential functions of the job and should not be construed as a detailed description of all the work requirements that may be performed in the job.
