About Us: Wheatsville Food Co-op is proud to have been serving the central Austin community since 1976. Starting with a group of unpaid volunteers affectionately known as "the turn-ups", Wheatsville has sought to provide access to quality, sustainable food sources and be the heart of the community from our early days on Guadalupe to our expansion on South Lamar in 2013. We are dedicated to providing an open and inclusive space for customers and coworkers alike. The Capital Campaign Coordinator guides the overall campaign, including planning and implementation, to help us better serve the Austin community and expand our neighborhood reach with a pivot to smaller format stores throughout the Austin area. This role will facilitate and organize the capital campaign process from beginning to end, providing direction, support and encouragement to other members of the team. The coordinator, reporting to the General Manager, is a temporary, full-time, hybrid position expected to last at least 6 months. With support from management, the coordinator will be responsible for building and managing a team of contract/volunteer/internal labor to carry out the capital campaign. Qualifications Essential Skills: * Passion for co-ops, natural foods, and the community * Enthusiastic, self-starter with previous fundraising experience * Team player with strong supervisory, communication, and delegation skills * Strong creative and persuasive writing, editing, and story telling skills to meaningfully connect people from a variety of audiences to our mission * Excellent attention to detail * Excellent strategic, organization, and time management skills * Excellent computer skills including Zoom/video conferencing, Google and Microsoft Suites * Integrity in relationships with prospective donors and investors, volunteers and colleagues Scope of Work: Planning * Recruitment and oversight of all other campaign team members * Plan and implement team member training * Development of training and support materials for team members, including FAQs for the campaign and Co-op, scripts and talking points * Develop systems to track campaign progress, caller and collections performance and communications * Establish and maintain effective communication among the team and with management * Develop and regularly update campaign timeline * Prepare campaign budget * Develop (with outside counsel support) all legally-required campaign materials, including the disclosure statement, promissory notes, subscription agreements, appeal letters, etc. * Develop (with Marketing Department support) all promotional campaign materials, including brochures, email updates, on-site materials, public campaign progress indicators, etc. * Work with the General manager to develop the overall and large-investor/donor strategy * Coordinate the gathering of pre-commitments from staff, board and a select few supporters * Develop target lists for the overall campaign and for large investments/donations * Organize the strategy and approach to pursue large investments or donations (for example, over $20,000) Implementation * Report updates and campaign status on a regular basis * Report large investments/donations as they occur * Ensure data from callers, collectors and other sources is entered promptly * Ensure regular communication, with agendas and facilitators as needed * Oversee and support team member performance, including providing additional training and support as needed and repositioning of under-performing team members * Assess all aspects of the campaign and adjust strategy, timeline and budget as needed * Promote an upbeat and celebratory campaign atmosphere Work Environment and Other Job Requirements: * Ability to work in an office environment with moderate noise including, but not limited to: computers, printers, paging, telephones, and human voices * Ability to lift/move campaign materials up to 15lbs * Occasional weekend and evening hours required * Reliable transportation required * Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job*
