Job Info POSITION: Union - Meter Reader Collector Seasonal(NYSEG-NY-Geneva) (R-07988) NUMBER OF POSITIONS: 4 SISTER REQS: R-07991, R-07996, R-08006 LOCATION: NYSEG-NY-Geneva HOURLY RATE: $25.63 Responsibilities * Read and record electric meter indexes into computerized handheld systems. * Responsible for accurate and timely meter readings of electric and gas meters. * Report hazardous conditions, meter tampering and meter conditions. * Timely completion of assignments. * Assist in ensuring data integrity and customer satisfaction. * Adhere to safety policies and practices. * Maintain current meter location records and maps. * Responsible for protection and maintenance of all assigned company equipment. * Work field collections. * Other duties as assigned. Skills and Requirements * Must be at least 18 years of age. * Must have high school diploma or GED. * Must have a valid driver's license. * Must be willing to work in various weather conditions including heat/cold, rain and snow. * Must be willing to work extra hours as required, including storm work. * Must be able to perform essential job functions, with or without reasonable accommodations. * Must successfully complete background check, drug screen and audiogram. * Must be particularly alert in observing hazards and avoiding accidents. * Must be self-motivated. * Must be a team player. * Must be able to complete physically demanding tasks on a daily basis. * Previous experience as a meter reader or experience driving a company vehicle a plus but not a requirement.
