Position Description We are currently recruiting to fill an Engineering Lab Technician position at our global headquarters location in Racine, Wisconsin within the Advanced Thermal Systems team. This position is responsible for assembling initial proof-of-concept units from complex engineering drawings to determine the design feasibility and engineering print accuracy, while collaborating with the engineering team to provide immediate feedback on designs and then updating engineering prints for future builds with the lessons learned. The ATS Engineering Lab Technician will be responsible for managing the component inventory used by in the engineering lab, including tracking inventory, ordering additional material and organizing the lab stock. Key Responsibilities * Provide technical assistance to the engineering team. * Identify solutions to improve efficiency and cost effectiveness of assembly. * Train others as determined by management in design for assembly. * Coordinate proof-of-concept builds and provide feedback to the engineering team related to installation difficulties, print accuracy, and design recommendations. Complete End of Line Tests (EOLT) on samples: functional, safety, electrical, performance, etc. * Read complex engineering prints during proof of concept builds and red-line with updates for future builds. * Oversee and ensure updates are completed on to the necessary CAD files. * Plan, procure and manage the component inventory for all required engineering lab projects and builds. * Work closely with cross-functional ATS departments and the manufacturing plant to ensure new models are delivered on time and meet all customer requirements. * Solicit and monitor feedback from the field and initiate product improvements when appropriate. * Work independently and manage the work schedule for the lab. Required Education & Qualifications * College graduate in engineering or related technical discipline with limited work experience or 3 - 5 years equivalent experience in the specified engineering discipline * A basic understanding of electrical systems and harness fabrications * Ability to read blueprints/schematics * Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbal * Possess strong technical skills and attention to detail * Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) * Ideal candidate is self-motivated and eager to learn * Dedicated to quality and safety * Ability to work in or to learn CAD Modine is an equal opportunity employer.
