This position assists and coordinates activities in the labs operated by the Engineering, Technology, and Skilled Trades.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential job functions satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the primary job functions herein described.   * Maintains the physical safety of persons and equipment in lab facilities, including machine tools, materials testing equipment, ovens, cutters, woodworking equipment, advanced electronic technologies, hand tools, 3D printers, and all other equipment located in the labs and not specifically named.  * Identifies and acts to immediately eliminate any physical safety hazard in the labs.  * Promptly and respectfully addresses individuals violating safety protocol and initiates measures to correct unsafe actions and or behavior. * Understands and enforces compliance with OSHA standards and requirements for lab and shop environments to create and maintain a safety culture.  *Creates appropriate training(s) and certification(s) for persons using any of the machine tools, materials testing equipment, ovens, cutters, woodworking equipment, advanced electronic technologies, hand tools, 3D printers, and all other equipment located in the labs and not specifically named.  * Understands how to correctly operate machine tools, materials testing equipment, ovens, cutters, woodworking equipment, advanced electronic technologies, hand tools, 3D printers, and other equipment located in the labs and not specifically named.  * Maintains the labs and equipment in working order and prepares the lab facility for each day's activities. * Coordinates with the Program Directors to routinely monitor, record, and maintain an adequate inventory of parts, supplies, and equipment.  * Assists Program Directors in maintaining the laboratory budgets associated with their specific programs for equipment, parts, tools, supplies, and consumables. * Routinely reports and receives authorization from the appropriate Program Directors for replacing equipment, parts, tools, supplies, and consumables.  * Processes purchase orders for equipment, parts, tools, supplies, and consumables used to support each program's lab activities.  Tracks orders, receives and inventories warehouse deliveries, verifies the correctness of received orders, relocates items to the storage area, investigates all ordering problems/discrepancies, and reports information to Program Directors as needed. Responds to technical questions about lab equipment use and conditions and demonstrates proper lab processes and safety protocols. Prepares digital files and software programs to support college-approved activities, organizations, and clubs that use the lab facility.  Assists Program Directors in submitting laboratory equipment, parts, tools, supplies, and consumables for surplus associated with their programs.   Coordinates the scheduling of lab facilities to maintain a safe and orderly learning environment, prevent overcrowding, and resolve disputes concerning who uses the lab facilities and when. Maintains, manages, and records each student's presence and work in the labs. The digital log provides historical information to justify the labs' existence and monetary needs.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:   Proficiency in computer software and hardware applications, including Microsoft Office suite applications  Excellent written and oral communication skills  Varied fabrication, manufacturing or maker experience, including with equipment found in manufacturing environments or a university maker lab, engineering workshop, machine shop, wood shop, Fab Lab, etc. Knowledge of word and excel spreadsheets  Knowledge of basic hand tools and power tools, including machine tools Requirements: Associate's degree in machining technology, CNC technology, welding technology, advanced manufacturing technology, mechanical engineering technology, or a closely related field   Two years of experience in a lab environment or related industry experience   Supervisory or leadership experience     Preferences:  Machine shop experience Experience working in a Fab Lab Essential Personnel:  TBD
