Job Description Summary Perform general facility and equipment maintenance for 68,000 square foot testing laboratory. Job Functions * Perform general facility and equipment maintenance and troubleshooting, as well as some vehicle maintenance and general handyman tasks. * Perform construction-related tasks as needed, including minor electrical, plumbing and HVAC work and troubleshooting. * Operate and train others to operate related equipment, including skid steer, forklift, and other equipment. * Maintain supply inventory of sand and other bulk materials necessary for testing. * Serve as facility's primary contact with outside contractors. * Assist with grounds maintenance, including sidewalk and some parking lot snow removal. * Receive shipments and notify appropriate staff of deliveries. * Be an active member of the Site Safety Committee * Train or assist with training for new hires, current employees, visitors, vendors and contractors on safety policies and procedures as necessary. * Adheres to internal standards, policies and procedures. * Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education and Experience * High School/GED AND (Required) * Minimum 3 years of experience with facility and equipment maintenance and troubleshooting OR equivalent combination of education and experience. (Required) * Oversight of or participation in safety management, training and systems required. (Required) * Experience operating forklift and skid steer required. (Required) * Bachelors degree in Facility Maintenance, Construction, or similar field (Preferred) * 5 years of experience, with trade certification(s). (Preferred) * Electrical, construction, and welding experience * Scissor lift, aerial lift, and similar devices experience. * Knowledge of Lock out / Tag out procedures. Licenses and Certifications * Electrician, Welding, HVAC, and/or similar certification(s) preferred (Preferred) * Must have valid drivers license. (Required) Knowledge, Skills and Abilities * Language Skills: English required * Mathematical Skills: Intermediate level required * Reasoning Skills/Abilities: Intermediate level required * Computer Skills: Basic/Intermediate level for MS Office required. * Must be mechanically inclined with excellent problem-solving skills. * Must be able to use a partial face respirator occasionally (must successfully pass respirator fit test). * Must be safety-conscious to ensure maintenance is performed in a safe and regulatory compliant manner. * Must be a self-starter, able to work independently and within a team environment. * Excellent organizational and time management skills required. * Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment. * Must have excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, and an ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships within a team environment. * Must be dependable, able to attend work regularly, and display a strong sense of urgency and good judgment.
