Athletic Trainer Job Description
Overview
The Athletic Trainer is a health care worker who diagnoses and treats sustained injuries to the muscles and bones of athletes. Their role is to deliver medical care and provide first aid techniques, teach athletes how to prevent injuries, and work under the direction of a physician. Their responsibilities are to answer patient question empathetically and helpfully, monitor athletic events and team practices, perform initial athletic training evaluations, act as the liaison between the patient and physicians, support staff and medical assistants, and assist with maintaining all medical records.
