Optometrist Job Description
Overview
An Optometrist identifies vision defects, diseases, and injuries by assessing patient's eyes. Their role is to maintain medical files, evaluate eye defects, record treatment plans, and perform eye inspections. Their responsibilities are to perform thorough routine eye inspections, identify patient’s visual alertness, diagnose sight problems, prescribe corrective lenses and medications, maintain accurate medical files, promote eye health by teaching eye care techniques, identify and assess eye defects and diseases, and record all diagnosis and treatment plans.
