Security Specialist Job Description
Overview
A Security Specialist is responsible for developing and implementing security measures to protect an organization's computer networks, systems, and data. They must be knowledgeable in a variety of areas related to information technology, including operating systems, network protocols, firewalls, encryption technologies, authentication methods, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), vulnerability scanning tools and disaster recovery plans. They are also expected to monitor system logs on a regular basis in order to detect any suspicious activity or potential threats.
