Translator Job Description
Overview
A Translator works with text that needs to be translated accurately from one language to another. Their responsibilities are to liaise with colleagues to ensure that translations are true to the original meaning, and transform the written material from one or more 'source languages' into the 'target language'. Their responsibilities are to attend meetings to translate discussions, continually take language fluency assessments, using specialist dictionaries, thesauruses and reference books to find the closest equivalents, and research legal, scientific and technical phraseology to find the correct translation.
