Veterinarian Job Description
Overview
A Veterinarian examines animals and checks their health. Their role is to advise pet owners on nutrition, preventive healthcare, and general care, prescribe medication, perform dental, ophthalmic and orthopedic surgeries, dress wounds of injured animals, and diagnose illnesses. Their responsibilities are to update client records, conduct home visits, spay and neuter cats and dogs, and determine the best course of treatment.
