The Right of Way Unit is responsible for the acquisition of all necessary Rights of Way and Easements needed for construction and/or improvement of all highway projects on the State Highway System. The Right of Way Agent I is responsible for acquiring Rights of Way and managing projects assigned to consulting firms for construction and maintenance of the State Transportation Network. The Right of Way Agent I is responsible for providing Right of Way information/documentation within the department, to the public, and other government agencies. The Right of Way Agent I must explain right of way concepts and procedures via written and oral communication. The Agent must monitor and track schedules and workloads within the Division to ensure timely right of way acquisition completion and project letting. This position also assists in coordinating right of way acquisition activities with appropriate governmental agencies, other units, and property owners. The selected applicant will be expected to legally operate a motor vehicle.
