The Calabasas Stein Eye Center, a multi-specialty ophthalmology practice, is seeking an enthusiastic Administrative Assistant to deliver a smooth patient experience. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Guide patients through check-in/out processes * Ensure accurate registration and insurance verification * Schedule appointments * Obtain medical records and authorizations as needed * Coordinate authorizations and referrals * Respond or route patient messages Salary Range: $25.60-$36.33 Hourly Job Qualifications Press space or enter keys to toggle section visibility Required: * Minimum 2 years of experience working in a medical office. * Experience scheduling patient appointments in computerized appointment scheduling system. * Excellent interpersonal skills which promote pleasant and effective communication with patients, staff and doctors. * Excellent organizational skills and ability to maintain records in a clear and orderly manner at the direction of the Office Manager. * Working knowledge of medical terminology and diseases, as it applies to the eye. * Familiarity with current patient billing practices and knowledge of current governmental programs. * Sufficient computer keyboard skills to perform appointment scheduling, encountering, emailing, and other related computer tasks. * Ability to prioritize tasks in a systematic manner to maximize efficiency. * Ability to work with frequent interruptions and to complete assignments in a timely manner. * Ability multitask effectively and work independently with minimal supervision. * The ability to interact calmly and effectively with providers, staff, as well as patients with difficult personalities. Preferred: * Two years' experience working in a medical teaching institution and/or in a ophthalmology practice setting. As a condition of employment, the final candidate who accepts a conditional offer of employment will be required to disclose if they have been subject to any final administrative or judicial decisions within the last seven years determining that they committed any misconduct; received notice of any allegations or are currently the subject of any administrative or disciplinary proceedings involving misconduct; have left a position after receiving notice of allegations or while under investigation in an administrative or disciplinary proceeding involving misconduct; or have filed an appeal of a finding of misconduct with a previous employer.
