Details * Patient Transporter - All Positions * Transport * Full Time/Part Time/PRN * Variable Shift * Pay: Starting at: $15.00 / hour Summary * Responsible for the transportation of patients and patient related items within the organization. Assists with greeting of patients, transportation, positioning/holding patients and vital signs as needed. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. * This position works under the supervision of the Director, Associate Team Leader and Lead Technologist/Charge Nurse/Staff Nurse and is employed by Mosaic Health System. Duties * Transports patients by wheelchair, cart, bed, or special cart. Patients may be transported while connected to I-Meds, oxygen, or Emerson pumps. Observes patient for lift threatening conditions. Transports patients with total weight up to 700 lbs (with assistance), able to assist/transfer patient's alone to/from bed, cart, or wheelchair. Transport isolation patients. * Attaches ER patient back up to correct monitors. * Maintains appropriate communication with patients, families, visitors, providers, and staff throughout the organization. Serves as a liaison between departments. Must cope well in emergency conditions and handle stressful situations well. * Assists the technologists with positioning/holding patients while exams are being performed as needed. * Takes and records temp, B/P, pulse, SaO2 and respiratory rates as needed. Qualifications * High School diploma or GED equivalent. * Heartsaver or BLS certification required within 90 days from start date. CPI certification required within 90 days from start date if working in Emergency Department. Exceptional Customer service is perferred. * Previous hospital experience and/or familiarity with medical supplies and equipment preferred. Patient Experience and Exceptional Customer service is preferred.
