• 2nd Shift: 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM

Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Dispatcher to perform logistics functions, including reviewing, preparing, and routing shipments, as well as coordinating drivers, work crews, vehicles, and equipment for a distributor of Carbon and Stainless Pipe, Fittings, and Flanges. This role requires strong communication and organizational skills in a fast-paced environment. Experience with LTL (Less-Than-Truckload) freight shipments is required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Calculate routes and delivery times, making necessary adjustments to meet customer and sales demands.

• Establish cost-effective delivery routes while maintaining compliance with Federal DOT guidelines and ensuring high customer satisfaction.

• Schedule and dispatch drivers, work crews, vehicles, or equipment according to schedules and priorities.

• Must have experience with LTL (Less-Than-Truckload) freight shipments, including coordinating pickups and deliveries efficiently.

• Relay work orders and other messages between work crews, supervisors, and customers.

• Use telephones, two-way radios, and email to coordinate operations efficiently.

• Address customer inquiries, service requests, and problem resolution in a timely manner.

• Maintain and organize work requests, inventory records, customer orders, and expense reports.

Qualifications:

• Experience handling LTL shipments is required.

• Excellent communication skills for coordinating teams and handling customer interactions.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and logistics software.

• Strong clerical and organizational skills to track schedules, routes, and personnel.

• Ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure.

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced and high-stress environment.

Requirements:

• Position primarily involves working in a warehouse environment.

• Frequent telephone communication; must be comfortable initiating conversations.

• Moderate noise levels due to warehouse activity.

• Requires sedentary work for 80% of the time, with occasional standing, walking, reaching, bending, squatting, and kneeling.

• Regularly handles multiple concurrent tasks with constant interruptions.
