Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesWe are seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Staff Accountant I to join our accounting team. In this role, you will primarily support DBS Inventory, ensure compliance with SOX controls, manage various general ledger accounts, and actively participate in the monthly close process. This position involves occasional travel to different facilities to support inventory reconciliation and audits. Key Responsibilities:Inventory Accounting & Reconciliation:Manage and reconcile inventory accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established policies and proceduresConduct periodic physical inventory counts and collaborate with other departments to resolve any discrepanciesSOX Compliance & Controls:Monitor and implement SOX controls related to inventory and general ledger accountsAssist with documentation, testing, and validation to ensure compliance with regulatory requirementsGeneral Ledger & Account Management:Maintain, reconcile, and analyze various general ledger accounts related to inventory and other assigned areasEnsure timely and accurate preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting documentationMonthly Close Process:Contribute to the monthly close process by preparing and posting adjusting entries, reviewing trial balances, and ensuring completeness and accuracy of financial dataAssist in the preparation of reports and analyses for management reviewCollaboration & Communication:Partner with cross-functional teams, including operations and finance, to support inventory accuracy and process improvementsProvide financial insights and support for both internal and external audits Skills, Experience and RequirementsEducation and Experience:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field0-2 years of experience in accounting or a related field (internship experience is acceptable)Experience with inventory management and general ledger accounting is preferred Skills and Qualifications:Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general ledger accounting software (experience with Oracle is a plus)Familiarity with SOX controls and compliance requirements is a bonusStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team settingWillingness to travel as required (anticipated travel up to 10%) Visa sponsorship not available for this role Salary RangesCompensation: $63,150.00/Year - $90,000.00/Year BenefitsWe offer versatile health perks, including flexible spending accounts, HSA, a 401(k) Plan with company match, ESPP, career opportunities, and a flexible time away plan; all benefits can be viewed here: DISH Benefits.
