Position Overview
The Illinois Department of Corrections is seeking an Office Coordinator to work at Lincoln Correctional Center in the Health Care Unit. This position serves a an admnistrative secretary for the Health Care Unit Administrator maintaining itineraries, files, and complex medical filing systems. Essential Functions
* As an administrative secretary, performs complex office support functions for the Health Care Unit Administrator.
* Keyboards and edits reports, letters and additional memorandum for the Health Care Unit Administrator.
* Directs individuals in custody and authorized parties relating to individuals in custody at the facility to sources of specialized information in the Health Care Unit.
* Maintains itineraries for the Health Care Unit Administrator.
* Maintains files to include complex medical filing systems.
* Performs other duties as required or assigned that are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
* Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to two (2) years of secretarial/business school, OR completion of high school AND two (2) years of related office experience, OR two years of independent business experience.
* Requires ability to keyboard accurately at 30 wpm.
Preferred Qualifications
* Prefers at least two (2) years of professional experience utilizing composition, grammar, spelling and punctuation.
* Prefers at least two (2) years of professional experience working with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook or similar computer software.
* Prefers at least two (2) years of professional experience working with a data entry program.
* Prefers at least one (1) year of professional experience in working with confidential material.

* Requires the ability to pass the IDOC/IDJJ background check
* Requires ability to pass a drug screen. The use of unauthorized drugs by an employee, regardless of position held, is prohibited.
