Position Overview
The Illinois Department of Public Health is seeking a highly motivated individual to serve as the Training and Technical
Direction Section Chief. Plans, implements and monitors activities of the Training and Technical Direction Section.
Develops survey protocols. Serves as full line supervisor.

Essential Functions
* Serves as the Section Chief of Training and Technical Direction.
* Serves as full time supervisor.
* Monitors changes in State licensure and Federal certification program requirements.
* Develops survey protocols.
* Liaison with other agencies and provider groups relating to survey protocols, state licensure and Federal certification program requirements.
* Performs other duties as requested or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
* Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to the completion of four (4) years of college.
* Requires prior experience equivalent to four (4) years of progressively responsible administrative experience in public health.
Preferred Qualifications
* Master's degree in a health related field such as MHA, MPH, MBA, MSN, or other similar degree.
* Bachelor's degree or higher in nursing.
* Certified professional survey discipline or certified health facilities surveyor.
* Five (5) or more years of experience preparing and delivering training curriculum, education, and presentations on the regulation and surveying of health care and long-term care facilities.
* Thorough knowledge of state and federal regulations related to health care and long-term care facilities
* Ability to manage and evaluate an agency program, analyze administrative problems and adopt an effective corrective action plan.
* Five (5) or more years of supervisory experience.
* Five (5) or more years of experience in health care regulation.
* Five (5) years of experience drafting, reviewing, and implementing policies and procedures.
