JOB SUMMARY: The Director of the Children's Hearing Program (CHP) provides leadership, guidance, and management of the day-to-day clinical and administrative operations of the CHP. This position is integral to the development of the program, its service line goals, education, programming, and quality initiatives. The CHP is a unique, interdisciplinary program for children with hearing loss and their families. The CHP provides evaluation and management to children locally, nationally, and internationally. The Children's Hearing Program includes audiology, speech language pathology/auditory verbal therapy, psychology, social work, deaf education, music therapy, administrative staff, and a pediatric support specialist. The Director of CHP develops innovative strategies to serve children with hearing loss, implements short and long-term initiatives, tracks the program's progress, identifies potential and cultivates current program donors, and manages the finances and budget. The Director of the CHP provides direct oversight to the Director of Family Support Services and works collaboratively with this position to carry out the program's mission and vision. A record of scientific publications, involvement in relevant professional societies, and leadership experience in clinical, educational and advocacy endeavors related to pediatric hearing loss is preferred. The candidate should have National or International recognition in the field. The Director of CHP should be an accomplished clinician-administrator or clinician-investigator-administrator who would fulfill criteria for appointment at the level of Associate or Full Professor in the Clinician Educator Line. The position entails a combination of clinical practice, clinical research, education, and program administration depending on the qualifications of the successful candidate. The position will consist of 80% clinical activity and 20% administrative effort. REQUIREMENTS: * AuD or PhD in Audiology required. * Minimum of 10 years of pediatric experience preferred. CANDIDATE IS EXPECTED TO: * Demonstrate expertise in clinical management of pediatrics. * Demonstrate a strong skill set in directorial or managerial responsibilities. * Demonstrate experience in clinical supervision and program management * Facilitate the professional growth and advancement of others * Demonstrate ability to develop programmatic goals and articulate these goals effectively * Develop standards for excellence in clinical care based in evidence. * Maintain up-to-date knowledge of standards and regulations for the clinical field * Lead the recruitment and hiring of all healthcare professionals included in the CHP multidisciplinary team. * Demonstrate ability to improve clinical and research metrics within CHP as demonstrated by: * Clinical productivity * Research productivity * Responsible for quality control within the CHP * Updates and maintains evidence-based methods * Annual reviews of methods/protocols * Establishes and reviews annual outcome metrics * Consistency in clinical data collection * Demonstrate a solid understanding of budgeting, resourcing and performance evaluation procedures * Monitor the progress of CHP through data collection and identify areas for improvement. * Demonstrate strong communication skills. * Evaluate performance, provide feedback, and correction when necessary. * Demonstrate aptitude in resolving issues and conflicts. * Implement strategic short and long-term initiatives with a focus on expanding the program's reach throughout South Florida. * Collaborate with the Director of Development to identify potential donors, document the ROI for current donors, and determine novel ways to assists with fundraising initiatives. * Collaborate and communicate effectively with the Director of Family Support Services. Identify areas for strategic growth and develop short and long-term goals in alignment with the program's mission and vision. * Serves as a strong representative/liaison to key stakeholders (Department Chair, Director of Ear Institute, Chief of Audiology, ENT faculty, community leaders, leaders in field) * Demonstrate ability to facilitate institutional and industrial research collaborations. * Demonstrate evidence of ability to develop and maintain important relationships (I.e. National/local recognition, strong relationships with industry, committee involvement, community involvement, etc.). * Assist in planning and execution of community relations strategies and tactics that pertain to expanding outreach to children and their families in the tri-county area and ultimately increasing patient awareness and support. * Lead the development and execution of initiatives to provide children with hearing loss and their families information, education, counseling, guidance, support and resources about hearing loss and intervention options currently available. * Support the development and advancement of clinical training programs in pediatric audiology. The expectation is that the CHP Director will grow education programs as evidenced by number of trainees, quality of applicants, and national recognition of training programs. * Other duties as assigned.
