SUMMARY
This is a part-time hourly/seasonal position that assists with various tasks during district events as assigned. This position leads staff, provides customer service, and oversees facility rentals.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
* Provide direction, leadership, and guidance to community partners and spectators; resolve conflicts among renters, activity participants, spectators, and unauthorized users.
* Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations. Ability to stand for extended periods of time and move throughout facilities.
* Observe applicable safety requirements, utilize safety equipment, proactively implement safety protocols, and immediately report unsafe working conditions or hazards. Perform frequent general inspections of event facilities to ensure they are in safe working order.
* Communicate positively and effectively with stakeholders. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with program participants, staff, and the public.
* Event Responsibilities:
* Prior to an event: Coordinate and communicate with event staff. Prepare and coordinate any needed items such as tickets, radios, ticket seller reports, deposit slips, start-up money, deposit bags and any other necessary items. For athletic events: Communicate with officials, staff, and trainers about emergency protocols for injuries and any other situations that may arise.
* During an event: Communicate with team members, address arising issues, collaborate with school administration or security to manage disruptive adults. If a student-related issue occurs, contact administration immediately. Provide customer service to all spectators.
* After the event: Count money with ticket sellers (two counts separately done), place deposit slip and cash into deposit bag, and complete all required documentation. Ensure all exits are accessible for spectators to exit, confirm all equipment is returned to its designated location, sign staff out, return radios, secure tickets and cash in a safe location, and stay in the facility until all spectators have left.
* Monitor and visit sites as assigned by Facility Scheduler. Provide communication about status of events, if necessary, request additional support, contact Facility Scheduler immediately if there is an emergency.
7. Liaison to the Facility Scheduler, School Administration, District Director of Athletics and Activities and/or other relative district department managers
OTHER JOB DUTIES
* Attends monthly event staff meetings as needed.
* Perform necessary correspondence duties.
* Updates knowledge by attending clinics, workshops, and maintaining familiarity with current activity trends and innovative ideas.
* Performs related duties as assigned.
CONDITIONS
Collaborate with community members, students, and other staff in indoor and outdoor settings; physical ability to lift and move equipment; may be exposed to infectious diseases and inclement weather. Requires working some late evening and weekend events. Education and Experience
Graduation from high school; or equivalent and some experience in supervising school activities; or some experience supervising a club(s); or any combination of experience and training which provides the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and ability required to perform the work and that meets federal and state requirements. Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.
Allowable Substitution
Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be evaluated by the Human Resources department for comparability.
Licenses/Special Requirements
Valid Driver License
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of building and district policies, regulations, procedures, and guidelines related to facility rentals and student activities.
Knowledge of effective activity program practices.
Ability to work cooperatively with building staff.
Ability to exercise fairness in dealing with students.
Ability to conduct oneself in an ethical and exemplary manner at all times.
Ability to establish and maintain effective work and student relationships with a variety of people in a multi-cultural, diverse socio-economic setting.
Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate building activities.
Ability to set-up and maintain accurate records and files.
