Title Small Business Center Director Full or Part Time Full Time Number of Months 12 Months Proposed Date of Employment 02/01/2025 Work Schedule Permanent or Temporary Permanent Salary Band Minimum Salary $48,563 Position Summary Information Position Summary In support of Isothermal Community College, the Small Business Center Director administers activities of the Small Business Center, builds bridges and closes gaps to the business community. Responsibilities 1. Identify needed small business activities and plan content and schedule to meet community needs 2. Take initiative in starting new activities 3. Maintain close contact with small business community, professional organizations, and trade associations 4. Encourage exchange of ideas and open communication 5. Maintain up-to-date resources and information bank/center 6. Identify small business community needs and initiate plans and/or activities to meet the needs 7. Submit accurate records and reports on the small business center accomplishments 8. Participate in meetings with college personnel and share information 9. Recruit well qualified volunteers, part-time personnel for teaching and counseling and orient them to the college and center operations of small business activities 10. Provide monitoring and guidance of volunteers and part-time personnel 11. Evaluate activities to maintain high level of quality and up-to-date information 12. Maintain effective partnerships within the network of small business centers in the state 13. Work with active small business advisory group 14. Prepare and control a small business center operational budget 15. Maintain effective partnership with local, state, federal, and educational agencies, and other service providers 16. Work collaboratively with all areas of the college to provide entrepreneurship services to the business community 17. Other duties as assigned Skills and Abilities 1. Develop an understanding and appreciation of the mission, history, current programs, services and goals of Isothermal Community College 2. Strong organizational, leadership and time management skills 3. Managerial or technical experience in small business 4. Ability and experience in counseling 5. Excellent verbal and writing skills 6. Ability to organize and obtain appropriate materials for clients, participants, counselors, and trainers 7. Ability to work effectively in a team and collaborative environment 8. Ability to be self-directed and to complete work independently 9. Ability to present yourself in a professional and articulate manner, and gain respect from the business community 10. Skilled in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and networked systems Minimum Qualifications 1. Bachelor's degree with at least three years of successful business experience in an ownership and/or management capacity, required Preferred Qualifications 2.
