Duties
* Performs installation, modification, maintenance, and repair of electrical wiring systems, related switches, distribution panels, and outlet boxes
* Inspects, maintains, cleans, repairs, tests, and adjusts a wide variety of electrical fixtures, tools, and appliances. Following maintenance schedules, inspections, or work orders
* Performs maintenance services, diagnoses system or equipment malfunction and makes repairs as necessary.
* Makes alterations to basic equipment as required and/or connects new equipment to existing facilities
* Performs machining operation on damaged parts when new replacements are not readily available utilizing bench lathe, drill press, grinding wheel, and other common portable power and hand tools
* Installs, recognizes causes of faulty equipment, and makes uncomplicated repairs on a variety of small domestic and commercial heating, furnaces, refrigeration and air conditioning units

* The duties of the position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's license in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles in accordance with Army Regulation 190-56..
* This will include an immunization/medical screening to determine inoculation for Measles, Mumps and Rubella, Tetanus, Diphtheria and Pertussis, Chickenpox titer, and a skin test screening for Tuberculosis.
* This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter
* In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations (natural or man-made disaster) the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
* Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
* Incumbent must have a valid state's drivers license.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an MAINTENANCE MECHANIC (MVO) without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform common plumbing and HVAC repairs, I can make uncomplicated repairs on heating, ventilation and air conditioning units; removing and replacing electrical wiring; and performing simple plumbing tasks including replacing broken pipes. I work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
* Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision (Screen-out Element)

* Physical Effort - Work involves climbing ladders, poles, towers, or structures. Good hand and eye coordination is required. Repairs are made on equipment which may require maneuvering and may require lifting of items up to 50 pounds; occasionally handles heavier items. Frequent bending, stooping, and stretching is required, as well as working in hard-to-reach places and in awkward positions.
* Working Conditions - Work is performed indoors and outdoors in all types of weather. Incumbent is exposed to dust, dirt, grease, oils, and noisy conditions. Incumbent is subject to possible injury from vehicular accidents or hand and power tools used. Incumbent is subject to falls from heights, cuts, bruises, insect bites, and stings, scrapes, burns, infections, and broken bones. Incumbent is subject to strains and injuries from lifting. Subject to serious injury or death from electrical shocks and electrocution. Incumbent is subject to emergency call back duty. Uses safety equipment as required.
