This position with NCDOT offers full State Benefits , competitive salaries and many career development opportunities.    NC18 Salary Grade $59,752-$104,566 The employee in this position will serve as the Senior Assistant Resident Engineer in the Resident Engineer's Office located in Whittier, NC.  The employee in this position is responsible for minor and/or major construction projects, supervising employees and preparing and evaluating the performance of employees.  The employee in this position must be proficient at plan reading, highway engineering calculations, and the survey instruments necessary to supervise the stake-out of line grade for roadways and structures.   Duties of the position include preparation of monthly estimates, final estimates and written and oral communication with contractors, inspection personnel, utility companies and the public to ensure compliance with contract plans, standards, and specifications.  This employee will also evaluate data collected by field personnel and prepare technical letters and reports, review contract plans, specifications, and materials testing results.  The employee in this position requires minimal supervision from the Resident Engineer.  Employee in this position will be expected to operate a state vehicle.
