USC is seeking a dynamic and talented individual to join our team as an Associate Event Producer. In this role, you will play a crucial part in producing and executing a wide range of high-profile events at both the presidential and university levels. As an Associate Event Producer, you will have the opportunity to coordinate, conceptualize, design, and produce events that promote the university and its goals in the public forum. You will work with the Office of the President, Senior Vice Presidents, Schools, Athletics, and others to maintain a centralized standard of excellence, quality, and protocol for events. Your efforts will create exceptional environments for donors and friends of USC while enhancing the prestige and goodwill of the university. This role is hybrid with flexibility to work remotely and in the office or at events. As events often require evening and weekend availability, this hourly position is eligible for overtime. Job Accountabilities: The candidate for the position of Associate Event Producer will be responsible for: * Presidential and University Level Events: Take charge of planning and organizing events held by the Office of the President and other significant events for the university. This includes high-end galas, major tailgates, donor events, and other university-wide celebrations for various departments and schools. * Full Event Lifecycle: Manage events from start to finish, including budgeting, design, program development, guest communication, and on-site coordination - including stage management, show calling, and food and beverage arrangements, collaborating with fellow producers. * Collaborative Approach: Work closely with the president's office and other university departments to plan events that meet presidential standards and expectations. Ensure all aspects of the events are executed with precision and professionalism. * Event Production Expertise: Utilize your comprehensive understanding of event production to make informed decisions regarding stage setup, equipment requirements, audio visual, and other production elements. Demonstrate expertise in design, menu planning, program development, and invitation management. * Event Team Management: Act as the main point of contact for school and unit-specific events, providing guidance, support, and leadership to fellow university event producers. * Maintain detailed event files. Build and maintain an extensive network of vendors and contacts to facilitate event coordination. * Research potential new vendors, negotiate contracts, and monitor the delivery of goods and services to ensure contract terms are met. * Perform other related duties as assigned or requested, showcasing your versatility and ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications The ideal candidate for the position of Associate Event Producer has the following qualifications: * Four years' experience as an Event Producer, preferably in a university or large-scale event setting. * Bachelor's degree. * In-depth knowledge of event production and logistics, including stage setup, lighting, and audiovisual requirements. * Strong vendor management skills. * Proficiency in budget management and financial reconciliation. * Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. * Ability to manage multiple projects, events, and deadlines effectively. * Strong organizational skills and ability to coordinate complex calendars. * Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a team setting. * Experience organizing and coordinating special projects. * A sense of "protocol" and ability to work with top-level executives. The hourly rate range for this position is $32.17 - $38.50.
