Apply Description Position Summary: Essex Industries, Huntington Beach is a rapidly growing Aerospace CNC and Assembly operations. The Operations and Engineering Manager leads the operation of 30 CNC machines, Deburring, Manual Machining, and Manufacturing Engineering. The role reports to the VP/GM and has autonomy to implement changes to the manufacturing operation to drive safety, quality, productivity, and efficiency. The ideal candidate is capable of assuming an expanded role within three years and can cover VP/GM duties as a backup. Essential Duties: * Assures Machine Shop Operations meet Daily Throughput targets by planning, immediate resolution of operator issues, and detailed preventive maintenance * Uses Capacity Management and supporting data to make staffing recommendations for Machine Shop, CNC Programming, and Manufacturing Engineering * Sets and enforces the highest standards for Safety, Quality, and Housekeeping with a Lead by Example manner * Engages, Empowers, and Rewards employees to drive Employee Engagement and Worker Retention * Provides Technical Knowledge and Mentorship to CNC Programmers and Manufacturing Engineers related to Machining Techniques, Fixture Design, Corrective Actions, and Process Engineering * Provides manufacturing estimates and manages New Product Introduction for Work Transfer/New Business * Owns Root Cause investigations and Corrective Action implementation to prevent nonconformity recurrences and improves first past yield * Assures Preventive Maintenance activities are conducted as scheduled and issues affecting production are resolved timely and within budget * Identifies the capital equipment and lease-hold improvements for the organization, along with the development of its justification and return on investment. * Conducts performance reviews providing objective feedback, mentoring, and corrective actions when required Requirements Required Education/ Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, finance, operations or business with a minimum of 10 years manufacturing supervisory or management work experience. Required Skills: * Ability to Mentor and Lead shop floor employees, production planners, and manufacturing/quality engineers * Understanding of Manufacturing P&L and able to develop/implement actions that improve EBITDA * Advanced Data Driven Decision Making and the ability to creativity measure processes when data is absent * In-depth knowledge of MRP Systems and a focus to assure the system functions properly without workarounds * Knowledge of CNC Manufacturing: Turning, Milling (3 and 5 Axis), GD&T, and Secondary Operations (Gear Cutting, EDM, Threading) * Self-organization to assure the multi-disciplined tasks are organized and completed timely * Act with a Sense of Urgency and drives actions while fostering a workplace of collaboration and teamwork * Communicate clearly and passionately, using data where applicable, in a multi-cultural environment * Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, TPM, Six Sigma tools and problem-solving methodology * Software: Excel (Advanced); SolidWorks (Working); MasterCam (Working preferred) Company Values: * Win Together- Work together as a team so we can achieve greater things. * Embrace Change - Be ready and willing to adapt as things change. * Listen to Our Customers - Appreciate customer insights so we can improve our service to them. * Find A Way - See problems as a challenge and an opportunity for growth. * Keep Commitments - Do what you say you are going to do. * Foster Trust - Treat all coworkers, customers and suppliers fairly and with respect. Salary Description $110-$140k + bonus
