* Job Objective: A brief overview of the position.
* Oversees and manages all aspects of the system-wide academic partnerships, multidisciplinary student clinical experiences and clinical workforce development programs including the assessment of orientation and training program needs, development, and execution of program objectives, and evaluation and ongoing improvement of a competency-based orientation. Leads all efforts in achieving and maintaining ongoing multidisciplinary clinical workforce development, community initiatives and academic partnerships related to all clinical roles at Eisenhower Medical Center.

* Education
* Required: Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN)
* Preferred: Master's degree in Nursing (MSN), Healthcare or Business Administration, Workforce Development, Healthcare Education or Human Resources
* Licensure/Certification
* Required: California RN License
* Preferred: Certified Workforce Development Professional (CWDP) certification; ANCC Approved Nursing Certification (Clinical Practice, Leadership or Professional Development)
* Experience
*
* Required: Three (3) years of healthcare experience in education, leadership or workforce development
* Preferred: Experience in program management of a multidisciplinary healthcare workforce development program; development and evaluation of educational curricula; healthcare operations leadership (inpatient/ outpatient/ ambulatory); accreditation and regulatory processes
* Essential Responsibilities
* Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations
* Refines and maintains the workforce development to meet educational support needs of the organization.
* Collaborates with clinical educators, nurse leaders, organization executives, human relations partners, preceptors, mentors and other key stakeholders to ensure appropriate support for workforce development needs.
* Facilitates the entry of the new staff into the organization, including requisite assessment, pre-clinical and clinical orientation, and the competency verification processes to facilitate integration.
* Serves as a healthcare workforce development advisor to external academic programs.
* Utilizes various teaching strategies, as appropriate, for didactic and clinical experience.
* Develops and implements innovative models of instruction to support clinical learning in development activities.
* Acts in a leadership role for the workforce development, articulating program needs, and reporting program issues to Professional Development leadership.
* Functions as a liaison between disciplines and departments in assuring a smoothly coordinated development program, including facilitating meetings, identifying and responding to daily problems, and communicating and collaborating with many different members of the team.
* Communicates with Human Resources and Clinical Leadership to facilitate recruitment of needed clinical workforce possessing the background and skills required for successful performance.
* Acts as a transition manager, providing an essential stabilizing presence and beneficial interventions for the new team member to help bridge the expectation - reality gap from academia to clinical role practice.
* Works with key stakeholders in determining program content, teaching methodology, and determining successful completion of program criteria.
* Collaborates in the development and revision of policies and procedures pertinent to the program.
* Develops and monitors a program evaluation process and implements a continuous improvement process.
* Actively participates in committee appointments to affect positive change in patient care and the system.
* Promotes and cultivates positive relationships with academic programs to foster a positive image and recruiting pipeline with Eisenhower Health.
* Manages the operational, personnel, and financial aspects of the workforce development.
* Identifies when additional resources are needed to support the workforce development and discusses with leadership.
* Implements standards for measurable, realistic program outcomes with timelines and accountabilities.
* Regularly reviews workforce development data and program outcomes to identify areas for improvement.
* Establishes and maintains tracking methods to ensure competencies, orientation, surveys, and other programs components are completed within identified timeframes.
* Incorporates objective assessment of classroom and clinical performance into the evaluation framework.
* Develops and ensures consistent use of best practices related to the workforce development.
* Shares best practices of workforce development by publishing Eisenhower Health's outcomes through conference presentations and journal publications.
