JobID: 5733 Position Type: INTERNS Date Posted: 1/6/2025 Location: VARIOUS LOCATIONS Date Available: 07/01/2025 Closing Date: 03/07/2025 Additional Information: Show/Hide Position Information: Position Type: Non-Continuing, Unpaid Internship Start Date: 7/1/2025 End Date: 6/30/2026 Highline Public Schools is seeking Administrative Interns for the 2025-2026 School Year. Selected participants will intern with an assigned current Principal, Program Manager, and/or Superintendent. Interns will receive exposure and hands-on experience from a practicing principal, program manager, and/or superintendent in the execution of their daily work functions. Please also see Board Policy 5642 and Procedure 5642 Qualifications for Principal/Program Candidates: Internal candidates: To apply, certified staff must plan to be enrolled in a college or university program or complete a majority of course work prior to internship, or have related experiences that could substitute for being earlier in the coursework process; have at least three years certificated experience; have demonstrated excellence as teachers or specialists the past three years (documented on performance evaluations); and have demonstrated leadership role(s) in current assignment. External candidates: Same as above with the following additions: have a strong desire to work in a diverse urban/suburban environment; potential interest in a future leadership position in Highline. It is recommended that any external candidates inform Kellie Hernandez, Principal on Special Assignment - Leadership Pathways, in writing, of their interest prior to the application being submitted. Note: Interviews and placement for external candidates will be based on system capacity, after internal candidates have been considered. * Interested Principal/Program candidates who will be in a classroom MUST also submit an application for the AWSP 2025-2026 Educational Leadership Intern Grant. Internship Grant applications are due March 28, 2025. NOTE: When submitting approval from Superintendent, please send the approval to Kellie.Hernandez@highlineschools.org. The selection process will involve review of application documents, references, and recommendations; and team interviews. Selected applicants will be assigned to a school or department.
