Job Title: Firmware Engineer Job Description We are a clinical environment design company specializing in developing and producing a variety of medical devices. We are currently looking for a Firmware Engineer to join our team in Versailles, OH. Responsibilities * Design, develop, and maintain embedded firmware for process controls and hardware controls. * Apply principles and techniques of software engineering to accomplish goals. * Design and produce communication protocol specifications and documentation. * Maintain working knowledge of the general embedded developer landscape, design patterns, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies. * Create documentation of design to ensure software can be understood and maintained, including architecture drawings, design documents, and in-code documentation. * Participate in the creation of system-level requirements. * Perform and document verification activities to demonstrate the design meets requirements, including unit testing, integration testing, system testing, and device functional testing. * Interact with cross-functional project teams to accomplish project and product objectives. * Ensure the design complies with applicable regulatory standards such as UL, TUV, CSA, and FDA. * Plan and organize work to meet project and product objectives. * Provide guidance to other engineers and co-ops. Essential Skills * 2+ years of experience with Embedded C programming. * 2+ years of experience with microcontrollers (8, 16, 32 bit). * Knowledge of ERP systems (Oracle or PLM Agile preferred). * Experience with analyzing and interpreting data, preparing test protocols, and test reports. * Knowledge of UL standards. * Experience with NXP/Freescale processors. Additional Skills & Qualifications * Experience in the medical device industry. * Familiarity with circuit design. * Knowledge of hardware control. * Understanding of the regulatory standards compliance process. Work Environment This position is based out of Versailles, OH. Ideally, the candidate will work on-site five days a week, but a hybrid schedule of three days in the office and two days from home is possible. Depending on the candidate, there is potential for the position to be based out of our Dayton, OH facility after starting in Versailles. Our company offers a state-of-the-art corporate headquarters with labs, testing facilities, and a highly collaborative environment. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $57.69 Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
