The Private Investigator is responsible for conducting thorough investigations to gather evidence and information. This position will require uncovering facts, analyzing data, and providing insightful reports. The right individual for this position will enjoy working autonomously in dynamic environments.
- Perform comprehensive investigations using various methods such as surveillance, research, and interviews.
- Use surveillance techniques to monitor subjects and document their activities discreetly and ethically.
- Conduct background checks on individuals, organizations, or businesses to verify credentials, employment history, financial status, and other relevant details.
- Interview witnesses, suspects, and other individuals involved in investigations to gather testimony and obtain valuable information.
- Maintain detailed records and documentation of investigative activities, including observations, interviews, and evidence collected.
- Analyze gathered information and evidence to draw accurate conclusions and provide recommendations to clients.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards while conducting investigations and handling sensitive information.
- Prepare clear, concise, and professionally written reports detailing investigative findings, conclusions, and recommendations.
- Provide expert testimony and evidence in legal proceedings, depositions, or hearings when required.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Proven experience as a Private Investigator or relevant investigative role, preferably in law enforcement, military intelligence, or a related field
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to think critically and problem-solve effectively. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and interviewing skills are essential.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality, handle sensitive information discreetly, and conduct investigations with integrity and professionalism.
- Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and procedures pertaining to investigations, surveillance, evidence collection, and privacy rights.
- Familiarity with surveillance equipment, forensic tools, databases, and software applications commonly used in investigations.
- Commitment to upholding ethical standards and conducting investigations in a fair, impartial, and lawful manner.
- Ability to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to perform surveillance duties in various environments and conditions.
Education, Licenses and Experience:
- Current and valid Class C Florida Private Investigator license required
- "Class CC" (intern) Florida Private Investigator license may be accepted, by exception
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required
- Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, law enforcement, forensic science, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in law enforcement, military, or private security preferred
- Minimum of 8 years in a high-threat armed security role preferred
