Application Deadline September 3, 2024 Full-Time Regular 201381 [C24-054] Deputy Chief Information Officer Information Technology Central Connecticut State University invites applications for a full-time Deputy Chief Information Officer to join the Information Technology Department. The successful candidate must have demonstrated knowledge of the state of the art technical and computing environments. This position is instrumental in shaping the institutions IT infrastructure and ensuring the technology serves as an enabler of academic and administrative success. About CCSU's Information Technology Department Our team of professionals serves over 10,000 customers, compromised of faculty, staff, and students remote and in-person. The department of Information Technology is organized into five functional departments supporting infrastructure, security, applications, client support, project management and implementation of digital strategies across the campus. Position Profile The Deputy Chief Information Officer serves as a trusted member of the Information Technology management team and may be assigned specific areas of programmatic and or personnel administration or serve as the overall second in command under the executive authority of the Chief Information Officer. The successful candidate will perform a variety of managerial and supervisory duties assisting the Chief Information Officer in the development of information technology vision, architecture, goals, objectives and strategic and tactical plans including budgets; the allocation of resources to ensure optimization of technology consistent with the University's mission and business requirements. The Deputy Chief Information Officer is required to have demonstrated knowledge and abilities in the following areas: * Demonstrated ability to provide effective leadership and team building. * Demonstrated ability to develop Information Technology strategic plans and policies. * Demonstrated ability to develop, plan and manage budgets and to perform cost analysis. * Demonstrated success working in a unionized environment with multiple collective bargaining agreements. * Demonstrated superior written and oral communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to relate and work collegially, constructively and effectively with a variety of stakeholders, groups and individuals, as well as the ability to work independently. Applicant Evaluative Criteria Applicant profiles and supplementary materials will be evaluated for appointment based on the following: Education: All applicants must possess a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. Experience and Training * Five (5) years of professional information technology (IT) experience at the level of IT Director or higher. * Director level is defined as having significant management, functional or overall operational oversight including supervision and management of professional staff and budgets. Ideal Candidate Preference will be given to applicants with the following: * Possess a Master's Degree from an accredited institution in related field. * Demonstrate experience in the areas of architecture, integrations, middleware, security administration, and enterprise-scale information systems including its design, development and support. * May be required to possess project management or IT certifications. * Information Technology (IT) industry certifications. * Demonstrated Project management experience. * Experience implementing cloud applications and enterprise-scale systems with a strong focus on interoperability and security. * Experience in IT administration at a University, College, or other institution of higher education * Experience with ensuring compliance with state and federal statutes and regulations.
