Position Details Located in the energy corridor of Houston, Texas this position is responsible for performing reservoir engineering and characterization functions, including economic evaluation of acquisition and divestiture opportunities, calibrating subsurface models to improve understanding of depletion strategies and completion practices, evaluation and recommendation of exploration and development drilling opportunities, analyzing well performance and diagnosing issues to optimize productivity, and preparation of budgeting, forecasting, and planning inputs to business outlooks. Candidate will also be responsible for developing projections for future production volumes on producing wells and undeveloped locations, generate operating expense models, development schedules and capital forecasts. Prepare and present project data, analysis, and results to management. Duties and Responsibilities Use unconventional reservoir engineering techniques and methodologies to inform and optimize field development and reservoir recovery. Gather and integrate geological, petrophysical, operational and production data to create and calibrate subsurface models that investigate well performance drivers, well placement and completion design practices. Integrate rate and pressure transient analysis, material balance, decline curve and volumetric analyses into reservoir evaluation. Analyze production, pressure and field data to assess well productivity and identify performance trends. Prepare reserve estimates and economic analyses for acquisition and divestiture projects. Including type curve generation in unconventional reservoirs, historical LOS review, and commercial term integration consistent with company best practices Work with integrated asset team to develop and optimize completion, stimulation, and artificial lift design. Prepare reserve estimates and economic evaluations of exploration and development drilling and re-completion projects. Conduct interference testing to evaluate connectivity between wells and improve reservoir management Integrate evaluation methods to be consistent with undeveloped inventory existing within the company and provide capital investment recommendations. Stay current with industry best practices and engineering technology advances. Provide recommendations on utilization of appropriate technology on company assets. Keep current with industry activity, trends, well performance, spacing and completion trends. Identify new opportunities to support business development efforts. Provide guidance and training in fundamental and advanced applications of reservoir engineering across subsurface team. Assist with other corporate engineering functions such as budgeting, monthly production forecasting, reserves evaluation and AFE drill well packet preparation. Assist with population and analysis of portfolio model for strategic planning and budgeting. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in engineering, with petroleum emphasis required. Minimum of 8 years of unconventional reservoir engineering and M&A experience required. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with multi-disciplinary team. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Must be proficient in Aries, Spotfire, Microsoft Office suite software and be familiar with other technical software such as Kingdom, Harmony and Combo Curve Must be technically capable of learning new software.
