Position Overview:
At Freddie Mac, our Public Relations and Digital Communications group is looking for an intern to support our media relations team. We seek individuals who are highly collaborative and inquisitive team players as well as organized and motivated to solve challenges. Responsibilities will include gaining hands-on experience in focus areas of external media relations and strategy. Come work with us this summer!

Your Impact:
Public Relations Intern
* Gain insight into the daily news cycle and routinely enhance media monitoring skills on a variety of issues.
* Get hands-on media relations experience by building targeted press lists, drafting pitches and press releases, and compiling press clips and memos.
* Assist in the creation of interview briefs and talking points for media trainings and interview preparation.
* Conduct risk analyses on high profile, industry-related topics in the media environment.
Qualifications:
* Graduating in December 2025, May 2026 or December 2026.
* Available to work from May 2025 to August 2025.
* Helpful if currently working towards an undergraduate degree in communications, marketing, journalism, advertising or related fields, or preferably a program with a strong writing emphasis.
* Excellent written and oral communications skills.
* Experience in effective, inspiring, inventive visual storytelling.
* Appreciation for performance metrics and experience with aggregating data and identifying trends.
* Familiarity with emerging corporate social and other media trends and best practices.
* Proven ability to meet deadlines, take direction and work collaboratively.
Keys to Success in this Role:
* Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Strong Microsoft Office skills.
* Excellent interpersonal and facilitation skills.
* Be a teammate and able to work collaboratively.
Interns are paid at a set, non-negotiable hourly rate. The hourly rate for this role is $32/hr.

This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $54,000 - $82,000 . All interns positions are paid at an hourly rate, which can be found in the body of the job description.
