Purpose:
Under the general supervision of the Program Director, provides oversight of daily program operations and supervises staff providing services in the community to at risk individuals. Enhances staff knowledge on child health and available community resources.
Responsibilities:
* Oversees day-to-day operations of assigned programs/teams.
* Assures that day-to-day operations are carried out according to procedures outlined in protocol manuals.
* Provides direct supervision of program staff: regular supervisory meetings, including shadowing home and community-based visits as needed, reflective supervision and performance evaluations, provides performance feedback, develops corrective action plans and administers disciplinary action/termination as needed.
* Participates in the recruitment, hiring, and training of staff.
* Orients new staff and provides professional development opportunities for staff.
* Guides and mentors staff members in ethical decision making and strength-based delivery of services.
* Conducts regular team meetings, including but not limited to topics such as case conferences, program updates, educational opportunities.
* Contributes to the identification, development, dissemination, and/or implementation of program materials/tools, including protocol manuals.
* May maintain a client caseload.
* Participates in grant activity action planning; assists with writing activity plans pertaining to relevant programming.
* Assists in the development of grants, funding requests, appropriate documentation, and reporting documents as requested.
* Ensures that grant activities are implemented in a timely manner.
* Monitors documentation, paperwork, and data completion.
* May participates in QA/QI activities as needed.
* Collaborates across departments and programs to address the needs of the team and ensure program quality Manages time, organization, and scheduling to perform job duties and responsibilities.
* Represents the agency as part of community groups, coalitions, or activities, including creating and maintaining community partnerships.
* Provides outreach services for program related activities as needed and assigned.
* Attends and facilities meetings as required
* Uses a family-centered, strengths-based, culturally sensitive approach to provide support and assistance to EveryStep staff and clients.
* Participates in professional activities and stays current in findings, practices, and recommendations in fields related to programs.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Sociology, Social Work, Child and Family Studies, Psychology, or other human services field required
* At least five years' experience in social services, case management, and/or maternal/child health required with two years supervisory experience in human services, social services, or maternal/child health
* Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
* Time management skills with the ability to effectively plan, organize and prioritize work
* Strong keyboarding and computer skills with the ability to learn work-related software
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook
* Ability to work independently and exercise sound decision-making
* Ability to accept and work with diverse populations, culturally, economically and educationally
* Good working knowledge of community resources, agencies, and/or services
* Knowledge of family support services and risk factors
* Ability to implement applicable regulations and policies
* Ability to comply with accepted professional standards and ethical guidelines
* Mandatory Reporter of Child and Dependent Adult abuse training certification (within 30 days of hire)
* Current Iowa driver's license and auto liability insurance
* Successful completion of pre-employment physical, drug screen, 2-step TB test and background check
Working Conditions:
* Physical requirements: Sedentary work exerting up to 10 pounds occasionally, and/or a small amount of force frequently to move objects, including the human body. Physical activities: Talking, Hearing, Repetitive motions, Walking, Fingering (picking, pinching, typing, etc.), Visual acuity (field of vision for analyzing data, viewing computer, using measurement devices, operating machines, determining accuracy or neatness, and/or making general observations)
* Environment: Work is primarily performed in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential
* Travel: Required between locations
