A typical way to obtain the requisite knowledge and abilities would be the following: Either: 1. One year of full time paid experience performing the duties of Sheriff's Correctional Facility Recreation Specialist in Sacramento County service. Or: 2. Completion of all major course work from an accredited college or university required for a Bachelor's Degree or higher in recreation specializing in physical, developmental or social disabilities, or recreation for incarcerated populations. And One year of full time paid experience in developing, planning, organizing, publicizing and conducting recreational activities in a correctional facility. Note: If the word "experience" is referenced in the minimum qualifications, it means full-time paid experience unless the minimum qualification states that volunteer experience is acceptable.   Part-time paid experience may be accumulated and pro-rated to meet the total experience requirements. Note: Experience above the minimum required may be substituted for the college education on a year-for-year basis. Note: All experience requirements are stated in terms of full-time experience; part-time experience is acceptable and is converted to full-time on the basis of: 173.6 hours = 21.7 days = 1 work month. The candidate's application or other materials will not be included in this examination. Therefore, the candidate's responses to the supplemental questionnaire should be thorough, detailed and complete. The score from the Formula Rate Examination will determine the ranking on the eligible/employment list for this job.   All candidates competing in the testing process will receive written notice of their examination results by email.
