When not scheduled to work in the power plant, this position modifies and repairs building systems and equipment. Key Position Details: * 40 hours per week * Benefit Eligible * 2B Boiler Licensure or better required Job Description: Principle Responsibilities * Modification, maintenance, repairs, and operation of the heating plant equipment and boilers. * Operate and maintain the main system power plant. * Monitors operating pressures and temperatures of systems continuously. * Tests and adjusts boiler water treatment sensor to maintain proper boiler water chemistry. * Repairs pumps, valves, and related equipment. * Cleans and maintains assigned mechanical rooms and equipment. * May need to provide steam for services (sterilizes) and heat. * May need to provide deionized water and reverse ozmonics water to various labs. * Modify and repair building systems and equipment * Performs preventative and corrective maintenance. * Clean and maintain shop area, equipment and tools. * May need to operate trucks to plow snow and lawn equipment. * May need to preform emergency repairs on patient care non-clinical equipment. * Other duties as assigned. Job Requirements * Must be 18 years of age with education and/or experience needed to meet required functional competencies as listed on the job description, and High school diploma or GED preferred * Vocational or Technical Training in absorption and centrifugal air conditioning preferred * 2 to 5 years of experience in refrigeration, welding, HVAC, pneumatic control and fire systems in a Hospital setting preferred * Licensed Operating/Engineer required Physical Demands Heavy Work: Lifting weight Up to 100 lbs. occasionally, Up to 50 lbs. frequently
