Join Dolby's Finance team as a Senior Revenue Manager and lead the accounting for the licensing Order-to-Cash cycle and related month-end close process for revenue. This managerial position is crucial for ensuring accurate revenue reporting, performing technical accounting research, and maintaining compliance with Dolby's revenue accounting policies. You will design and implement procedures for assigned areas and provide leadership and training for accounting professionals reporting into this role. Reporting to the Revenue Director, you will manage a staff of two.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with senior management in Sales, Sales Operations, Marketing, Legal, and cross-functionally within Finance. You will also work with external and internal auditors to facilitate quarterly and year-end audits and resolve complex accounting issues related to revenue accounting. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational, communication, and management skills, be self-motivated, and provide solutions for identified issues. We are looking for someone with integrity, accountability, strong interpersonal skills, and a team-oriented mindset. This position requires a hands-on, flexible, hard-working individual who can thrive under pressure.
Responsibilities:
* Oversee the order management process for royalty statements and other licensing-related revenues. Support staff in resolving erroneous royalty statements and provide guidance on non-standard and complex transactions.
* Review complex quarterly royalty payments to third parties accurately and timely.
* Review account reconciliations related to revenue, including deferred revenue, accounts receivable, revenue reserves, expense accruals related to third-party payments, and other necessary accounts.
* Maintain the internal control environment, identify control weaknesses, and suggest process improvements.
* Drive process efficiencies through automation strategies (e.g., RPA, SAP, and BI reporting).
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to influence best practices.
* Coach and develop staff.
* Assist external and internal auditors as necessary.
* Support the Deal Desk by providing advisory services to the business.
* Review non-standard contracts, identify potential revenue recognition issues, summarize these issues, and recommend accounting treatments based on relevant accounting literature.
* Provide revenue recognition training to Dolby personnel, including Sales and Marketing, Sales Ops, Legal, and Compliance teams.
* Participate in special projects, such as supporting system integrations relevant to the order-to-cash process, involvement in acquisitions (purchase accounting and integration activities), and supporting new business initiatives.
This position is located in our Atlanta office.
Requirements:
* Strong understanding of US GAAP revenue recognition accounting literature, including ASC 606, Revenue from Contracts with Customers.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present and disseminate information to a wide variety of internal stakeholders with credibility and influence.
* Team player with strong interpersonal skills, comfortable working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
* Strong analytical skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
* Demonstrated commitment to delivering quality work products in a deadline-driven environment.
* Experience developing and implementing best practices and end-to-end process enhancements for the licensing order-to-cash cycle.
* Proactive, with the ability to work independently.
* Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
* Intellectually curious with a strong desire to learn.
* Excellent computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint; Salesforce and SAP preferred.
* 8-10 years of accounting experience required, with 5 years of public accounting experience strongly preferred.
* Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required, CPA preferred.

The Atlanta Area base salary range for this full-time position is $118,700 - $163,300, which can vary if outside this location, plus bonus, benefits, and some roles may also include equity. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, competencies, experience, market demands, internal parity, and relevant education or training.
