Job Overview

The Solderer II will provide support for the Production's Repair & Analysis Team and its associated operations. This position is responsible for supporting OPUS IVS production by PCB assembly, rework, and modifications as required. This role will take the direction and work with the Production Team Leader over this group.


Responsibilities:

  • Primarily uses surface-mount (SMD) technology to produce electronic circuits in which the components are mounted directly onto the surface of the PCBS
  • Responsible for ensuring workable bond to ensure connection
  • Must be able to work from schematics/identify electrical symbols
  • Accountable for precise welds to connect wire to computer chips or other components
  • Accountable to using the correct hand tools to make precision repairs or operate and calibrate soldering machinery
  • May solder broken parts
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements:

Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a team-oriented attitude
  • Ability to accept and adapt to change in a positive nature
  • Must be able to sit at a microscope for extended periods
  • Must be able to work overtime as required

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma and two (2) years of electronics soldering
  • Thru-hole soldering experience
  • J-STD-001 assembly standard understanding
  • Experience with safe operation of power hand tools and soldering equipment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • IPC J-STD-001 Certified
