Summary of Position
The City of Monroe Fire Department is currently accepting applications for the position of Paid-On-Call Firefighter/Emergency Medical Responder.
This is NOT a full-time/Career position. The department responds to an average of 300 Fire, Rescue, and EMS related incidents annually.

Duties and Responsibilities
This position requires individuals to respond from their home and/or place of work 24/7 as available. This position requires the participation in training two Tuesday evenings 6:30pm-9:30pm and maintenance two Thursday evenings 6:00pm-8:00pm per month.
Experience is not required.
CPR Certification within 12 months of the start date of employment. Certification must be maintained as a condition of employment.
Wisconsin Firefighter 1 Certification within 24 months of the start date of employment.
Wisconsin Emergency Medical Responder Certification within 24 months of the start date of employment. Certification must be maintained as a condition of employment. The department pays for required training, materials, and equipment.
Individuals applying for this position should be prepared to commit an average of 12-15 hours per month. The current starting pay rate for this position is $14.63 per hour. A detailed job description is available by request.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- 18 years of age
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Drivers License with a Good Driving Record
