Description Position: Director of Partnerships Organization: The Red Door Project Location: Portland, OR Reports To: Chief Executive Officer (CEO) About Us: The Red Door Project is an award-winning nonprofit based in Portland, Oregon. Since our founding in 2011, we have used narrative art including live theater and filmed monologues to help bridge divides. We are embarking on our next chapter which includes producing a filmed version of The Evolve Experience and continued partnership with criminal justice leaders and their communities. A key initiative is to use our film and our workshops to expand our reach and drive earned revenue. In addition to strategic relationships with local law enforcement and other community leaders, our base of support includes supporters of the arts and people and organizations dedicated to depolarization. Position Overview: The Director of Partnerships is responsible for developing and executing the organization's partnership strategy. This position will focus on cultivating and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders and influencers including leaders and organizations working in and with the criminal justice system. The Director of Partnerships will play a critical role in advancing The Red Door Project's mission and impact strategy of working with criminal justice leaders and their communities to bridge divides. Key Responsibilities: * Partnership Development and Strategy: * Lead the development and implementation of the organization's partnership strategy, identifying key potential partners and opportunities to enhance the organization's impact with criminal justice leaders and their communities * Cultivate relationships with community-based organizations and adjacent groups to identify and secure opportunities to scale our programming. * Foster and manage strategic partnerships that support the organization's funding, programming, and long term sustainability. * Negotiate partnership agreements, MOUs, and contracts, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and values. * Fundraising and Resource Development: * Partner closely with the product team to ensure a thriving and sustainable earned revenue stream. * Work closely with the development team to identify and secure funding opportunities through partnership channels. * Assist in the preparation and submission of grant proposals, especially those that require multi-stakeholder collaboration. * Stakeholder Engagement and Communication: * Serve as the primary point of contact for key partners and stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and alignment on shared goals. * Collaborate with The Red Door Project team to develop partnership materials that strengthen and expand our programming * Leadership and Team Management: * Collaborate with The Red Door Project team to ensure that partnership goals are integrated into organizational planning and performance. * Align partnership strategies with the organization's long-term strategic goals. * Monitoring and Reporting: * Monitor partnership outcomes and impact, providing regular updates to leadership and stakeholders. * Prepare reports and presentations for the Board of Directors, funders, and other key stakeholders. Qualifications: Experience Minimum of 10 years of experience in nonprofit or community based organizations with a focus on partnership development or sales in the criminal justice field or related sectors strongly preferred. * Strong understanding of the criminal justice system, its various sectors, and how they work together. * Proven track record of developing and managing successful partnerships with diverse stakeholders. * Skills and Competencies: Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels. * Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with an ability to think creatively and drive solutions. * Experience negotiating and managing complex agreements and partnerships. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling proposals, reports, and presentations. * Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team. * High level of integrity and commitment to The Red Door Projects mission, vision and values. Working Conditions: * Hybrid; work from home and Portland-based office. (must be based in Portland area) * Travel as required, both local and national, to meet with partners and attend conferences. * Occasional evening or weekend work for events or meetings. Compensation: * Annual Salary: $100,000-$125,000 based on experience * Comprehensive benefits package (health, dental, vision, retirement plans, etc.). * Opportunities for professional development and growth within the organization.
