BAE Systems is seeking a Materials Planner II to join its organization.
Responsibilities:
- Plans, schedules and guides the efficient movement of material from receiving or the warehouse to production.
- Develop raw material and scheduling requirements from engineering specifications and production schedules to plan and direct material movement with purchasing, warehouse, and production.
- Interface with internal customers and collaborate cross functionally to drive problem resolution and process changes to improve material on time delivery to the floor.
- Negotiate lead times with suppliers and maintain schedule to ensure on-time delivery.
- Assist tracking of material shortages for job orders, kitting, and sub-assemblies based on requirements and/or shift hand-off.
- Plan and execute production schedules to ensure a controlled flow of conforming material to meet delivery requirement.
- Balance current and future production plans with manufacturing and program to ensure completion of customer requirements.
- Establish, monitor, and verify Oracle ASCP system parameters, including buffers and inventory levels by performing audits of line side material.
- Review, action, and resolve material exception messages in advance of production impact.
High School Diploma with 2+ years' work experience, or equivalent experience.
Experience to comprehend complex problems and to collaborate and explore alternative solutions; aptitude to understand opposing points of view on intricate issues and to negotiate and integrate different viewpoints.
Strong planning, time management, multitasking and organization credentials.
Able to represent organization as a prime contact on assigned program(s) and projects.
Experience to independently exercise discretion and independent judgment while complying with policies, procedures, appropriate practices, and applicable MMAS regulations and protocol.
Sound interpersonal skills used when interfacing interpersonally and in group settings, coordinating and collaborating with peers, stakeholders and internal customers.
Knowledge of how to operate a computer and discern and assess charts, graphs, reports and/or other forms of written or graphical communication with a proficiency in use of Microsoft tools (Word, Excel, and Access).
Experience to develop and maintain professional and effective relationships with internal and external customers.
Knowledge of how to organize and prioritize work schedules on both a short-term & long-term basis, both for self and others.
Experience to compute, analyze and interpret complex numerical and/or statistical data for forecasting or reporting purposes.
